“I knew how nervous he’d be. And how much he wanted to turn around and see me. He wasn’t sure when he should do that. And finally he did. He turned and looked all the way up the aisle and saw me walking towards him through the trees and all the worry in his face disappeared and suddenly he was smiling. A big smile. We were inside the wedding barn but there were trees all around me. And beyond them flowers and ivy. I felt completely calm because it was so simple and natural and beautiful. This place, with its long history and its green leaves, was our place. Not just a wedding place. But somewhere which reflected who we are and the marriage which lay ahead of us.”
